About
Jacqui Cleijne, is a mostly self-taught artist with a passion for depicting Tasmanian wildlife and wilderness. This passion is evident in her beautiful interpretation of the states natural picturesque serenity and unique native animal life.
Born in Hobart Tasmania, Jacqui lived and worked for a period as an Architectural Drafts-person in Queensland, returning back to Tasmania in the late 80's to pursue her drafting career and follow her passion for art.
Her mother Robyn McNeil who is also an accomplished artist has naturally been influential in Jacqui's career.
Jacqui has since exhibited in several local and group exhibitions with sales at many venues. Her picturesque wilderness landscapes, seascapes and native animal paintings are popular among galleries, with a growing number of people following her work. Her paintings are enjoyed by many people from around the world, including Australia, Japan, USA, The Netherlands, and other.
She also has a love for portraying the family pet, which has become a specialty.

My work is highly detailed, custom made, hand painted art works, specialising in portraying our wonderful pets which include cats, dogs, horses, & unusual animals. Custom made traditional portraits in a studio style setting, relaxed at home or select a landscape setting. All paintings are produced lovingly from your photos. If your pet is deceased, I can work with photos you have. I use the highest quality archival coloured pencils, watercolours and Graphite.

How do I order a Pet Portrait?
To commission a Pet Portrait please provide good quality photos either via email at no smaller than 2MB or alternatively photos can be posted to me directly and will be returned in original condition.
Taking a good photo of your pet can be challenging, and I suggest photographing them in natural light out of direct sunlight, showing fur colour, texture and very importantly showing clear eyes.
If your pet is deceased, I can work with the photos you have.
Prices are negotiable depending on many factors ie; medium, size, and the number of pets in the painting.

Two or more pets combined can be a great way to save and makes for a nice portrait.
A natural setting can be used like a landscape or favourite place, as well as toys included in the portrait.

A 20% deposit is required which is part payment of the portrait. Full payment is required on completion and before delivery.
Payment plans available over the duration of the portrait and full payment is required on completion before pick up or delivery, with flexibility to pay per week or fortnight.
I also offer Pensioner Discounts.
For portraits of deceased pets, I can work with the photos you have.
100% Money Back Guarantee! If for any reason you are not completely happy with your portrait. It must be returned in original packaging it was delivered in and arrive in good condition within 21 days of payment.

Wildlife Gallery
A selection of wildlife animals and birds from around my home in Tasmania’s Wilderness. My paintings & illustrations are made using the highest quality archival coloured pencils, watercolours & Graphite on quality archival papers. Reference photos are mostly my own, with credit to Bonorong Wildlife Park and Trowunna Wildlife Park for their resident animals, when they are not sleeping! Many of the animals are from my own photos.
Wilderness Gallery

I use a variety of mediums, all archival including, coloured pencil, watercolour, graphite, and oils, and choose the best one to bring out the beauty of the subject. My experiences and inspiration for the artwork come from time spent in the wilderness and in my garden, observing life, making sketches, taking photos and just enjoying the serenity.
